Marquis Who's Who Honors Charles James Wallner for Expertise in Nonprofit Consulting

    CINCINNATI, OH, October 30, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles James Wallner has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Wallner is a noted nonprofit consultant and community organizer. With a career spanning several decades, he is the owner of PBE Services LLC., based in Cincinnati, providing expertise in grant writing, public relations, board and committee structures, public events and government relations to serve his clients.

Having begun his journey in New York, Mr. Wallner dedicated several years to teaching in the public school system. However, the 1970s recession led to the layoff of approximately 30,000 teachers in New York City, prompting him to explore new opportunities.

After a visit to friends in Lexington, Kentucky in 1976, Mr. Wallner moved to that city and developed a passion for both public health and traditional dance. He became deeply involved with both small nonprofits and larger organizations which he continued after his moving to the Cincinnati area in 1986. His extensive experience in the alcohol and drug prevention field spans almost 25 years, highlighting his dedication to addressing critical social issues not only in Lexington and Cincinnati area but in Louisville and Northern Kentucky. From 2002 – 2009, served as coordinator of public dollars for emergency AIDs funding in Southwest Ohio. Mr. Wallner has also served as the vice president of the Faith Community Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, where he also held the role of volunteer executive director from 2002 to 2019. From 2010 to 2011, Mr. Wallner served as coordinator for Prepare the Future Ohio in Greater Cincinnati. Among his successful grants were from the National Science Foundation, U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association, Greater Cincinnati Foundation and the Kentucky Arts Council.

He is principal author of the 2019 report for Recommendations for Human Services Funding and Integration of Service Delivery, a historical review of human services funding by the City of Cincinnati and recommendations to City Council of Cincinnati for its continuance. In 2004, coordinated Three Minutes of Peace for the Cincinnati area. In the arts, coordinated the 2002 Cincinnati and Kent State University tour for noted folk musician Tom Paxton; in early 1990's while on the Board of the Blue Ash Symphony authored the grant for Composer in Residence for Sycamore Schools and scripted, produced, codirected celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Charles Dickens' Visit to Cincinnati. From 1981 – 1985, was the initial director of the Woodland Jubilee Folk Festival, recognized in 1985, by the President and Congress of the United States for its "Tribute to the Jean Ritchie and the Ritchie Family." In 1979, principal director for the John Jacob Miles Memorial Festival to honor the memory of a major folk music icon. In 1977, directed the Lexington's Third International Festival, coordinating some 200 volunteers and over 100 international and educational organizations. He is a board member of the Cincinnati Contra Dancers, Cincinnati Flying Cloud Dance Academy, a founder of the Cincinnati English Country and the Lexington English Country Dancers, as well as having been a member of the Lexington Morris Men Dancers.
