    COLUMBUS, IN, November 01, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deepak Jasuja, MD, MBA, FCCP, FASN, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Jasuja is a distinguished medical professional with a robust career in nephrology and intensive care medicine. Drawing on expertise in managing complex kidney disorders and critically ill patients, he has served since 2015 as the medical director of nephrology and hypertension services at Columbus Regional Health. In his role, he oversees the department, addressing regulatory issues, staffing, and community outreach while catering to outpatient, inpatient, home dialysis and in-center dialysis patients. Adjacent to this leadership position, was section chief for nephrology and hypertension services from 2019 to 2021.

Before joining Columbus Regional Health in 2014, Dr. Jasuja was an internal medicine hospitalist at Deaconess Health System from 2008 to 2012. His academic contributions have included serving as an honorary clinical assistant professor of internal medicine at Kansas City University from 2008 to 2009 and as an adjunct clinical assistant professor of medicine in the Department of Biosciences at Indiana University School of Medicine since 2019.

Dr. Jasuja's career is marked by significant accomplishments, including his involvement as an investigator in a multi-center clinical trial on the CentrosFLO Tunneled IJ Catheter for Dialysis. Other achievements include starting a mid-level nephrology and critical care program, streamlining credentialing processes, and continuing education. Additionally, he established an airway program in the intensive care unit by setting up an airway cart and algorithm for difficult and failed airways.

Dr. Jasuja's professional affiliations including fellowships with the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is also a board member for the Joint Venture for Dialysis Units at Fresenius Medical Care. He serves on various committees such as the Physician Advisory Committee and Physician Call Compensation Committee. His dedication to community service is evident through his involvement with the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana, where he serves on the board of directors and chairs the Stuart Kleit Committee.

Born of humble beginnings in Agra, India, Dr. Jasuja's story is one of numerous challenges that he managed to overcome to find success in medicine, healthcare leadership, and community outreach. Inspired by his mother's encouragement to pursue medicine despite coming from a business-oriented family, he found fulfillment in solving complex health issues with compassion. He excelled in his career thanks to the influence of his parents, coaches, instructors and mentors. He graduated high school from St. Peters College in Agra in 1992 and earned a Doctor of Medicine from Government Medical College in Nagpur in 2001.

He did a research fellowship at Lerner College of Medicine's Taussig Cancer Center and Neurology at Cleveland Clinic in 2004 before undertaking an internship in internal medicine at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in 2005. His residency in internal medicine was completed at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2008, followed by clinical fellowships in critical care medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2013 and nephrology and hypertension at Indiana University Indianapolis in 2015. In 2023, he earned a Physician MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Jasuja has received accolades including the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana's 2023 President's Award and 2021 Community Service Award. He has been recognized nationally for healthcare excellence for his work in patient experience. He has contributed to public discourse as a speaker at the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana, Cummins Inc., and Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. He has been cited as a subject matter expert in MIT's magazine Unmasked and in Scientific American in the series "America on Dialysis."

Outside of his career, Dr. Jasuja is known for going above and beyond to help others. He shares his life with his spouse Ritu and their two children, Ishan and Alisha. He enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music, and working out. Looking ahead, he aims to derive happiness from giving more than taking, believing that this approach leads to greater fulfillment in life.
