Dr. Wang conducts research on tech stacks, instructional strategies, and institutional structures that support equitable outcomes in Black, Latino, Indigenous, and Low-Income students at post-secondary institutions. She is also associated with Higher Education Consulting Services LLC, based in Connecticut. Recently, Dr. Wang served as an engagement science consultant at Actionaly and a user experience researcher and designer at Beginex.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Wang held several significant roles that have shaped her professional journey. She was a research associate at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and an associate director at Stevens Institute of Technology from 2023 to 2024. Her contributions at Ball State University from 2014 to 2021 as an assistant professor of educational psychology was particularly notable, where she managed research teams and taught both online and in-person courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Wang's early career included roles at the University of Georgia as a quantitative researcher, instructional designer and qualitative and mixed-methods researcher at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. During her academic careers, she published 14 peer-reviewed journal articles (10 of which are first-authored), 2 book chapters, served on 5 editorial boards, and contributed to 200+ ad hoc peer reviews. She also served as a music instructor at Garden Street Performing Arts Center and freelanced for Lumina Datamatics in the role of a subject matter expert.
Dr. Wang's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in music from the University of Pennsylvania. She furthered her education with a master's degree in human development and psychology from Harvard University. Her pursuit of knowledge culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy in educational psychology with a primary concentration in applied cognition and development and two secondary concentrations, one in research, evaluation, measurement, and statistics and the other in behavioral neuroscience, from the University of Georgia. Most recently, she earned an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, where she won a Hackathon business pitch competition by collaborating with a group of entrepreneurs. In addition to her degrees, Dr. Wang received numerous professional certifications from Coursera Inc., Google, the Interaction Design Foundation, and other organizations in areas including user experience design, business intelligence, data science, data visualization, and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Dr. Wang's work on spatial skills and math anxiety has significantly impacted academia, earning her recognition within the scholarly community. Her dedication has been reflected in her numerous publications, including articles published in flagship and highly ranked peer-reviewed journals such as Educational Psychologist, Child Development, Educational Psychology Review, Frontiers in Psychology, Learning and Individual Differences, and the Journal of Educational Psychology.

Dr. Wang was/is a professional member of the American Psychological Society, the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, and the Interaction Design Foundation. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. She has served as a pro bono copywriter and editor for OASIS Center International and as a pro bono researcher for JerseySTEM. Dr. Wang's commitment to giving back to the community has been further demonstrated through her donations to regional orchestras and alumni associations and by participating in the Chamber Music Society and Baroque Ensemble, showcasing her diverse talents.
In light of her exceptional work, Dr. Wang has received several merit-based scholarships, fellowships and grants from the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, the University of Georgia, and Quantic School of Business and Technology. She also a first prize winner of a t-short logo design competition for the "Pilot Curriculum" during her studies at the University of Pennsylvania. As well, she is a recipient of the Premio Vittorini award, a prize given based on outstanding achievement in Italian course work and original timed compositions at the University of Pennsylvania.
