Relocating to Sedona, Arizona, he established Exposures International — a small art gallery that has since expanded to over 20,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in the United States.
SEDONA, AZ, November 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marty Herman, owner and manager of Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the Southern California Edition of The Wall Street Journal, published on September 25, 2024.
Hailing from over five decades of excellence in fine art and marketing, Marty Herman has distinguished himself through his work at the Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art since 1996. Featuring an eclectic array of jewelry, glass, bronze and stone sculptures, and oil and acrylic paintings, Exposures International has partnered with over 100 artists from both the local area and around the world. With high-profile seasonal shows in both the fall and spring, the constant rotation of unique and eye-catching artistry ensures a memorable experience for exhibitors and patrons alike and a laudable reputation as one of the world's largest and most singular galleries.
Initially serving as a combat photographer and photo intelligence specialist during the Vietnam War, Mr. Herman worked as a marketing manager at Pacific Stereo, a division of CBS, between 1971 and 1974. Following this period, he was the executive vice president and general manager of University Stereo from 1975 until 1980. During this time, he founded JAM Advertising, through which he went on to partner with Monte Gast and accrue a wealth of high-profile clients, including Coca-Cola, Oshman's Sporting Goods, Ritz Camera, Guitar Center, Fred Segal Clothing and San Miguel Beer, as well as several prestigious movie studios and record companies. In the years to follow, Mr. Herman would serve as the vice president of marketing at the Inference Corporation, an AI startup, from 1983 to 1984.
Retiring at the remarkable age of 35, Mr. Herman went forth on a life of adventure, sailing around the world from 1984 to 1990. In due time, he would visit over 250 art galleries — rarely satisfied with what he discovered, he resolved to open his own gallery after returning from his global travels. Relocating to Sedona, Arizona, he established Exposures International — a small art gallery that has since expanded to over 20,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in the United States. Founded at a time when art galleries were closing every few weeks, Exposures International has survived due to its simple philosophy of honesty and integrity when dealing with artists and clients.
For his professional achievements, Mr. Herman received the National Retailer of the Year Award for consumer electronics in 1979. He was named Audio Retailer of the Year by Audio Video International Magazine in the same year. Additionally, the Los Angeles Times acknowledged him as one of their Top 100 Executives, and Psychology Today magazine recognized him as a cultural leader for his generation.
Mr. Herman takes pride in the Exposures International Gallery, which has garnered numerous awards of its own. These include recognition as the Best Art Gallery in Sedona, a listing among the 25 Best Galleries and Museums in America, and the Best Jewelry Store in Sedona. The gallery has also received the Sedona Best of the Business Award and was inducted into the Business Hall of Fame. Most recently, it was honored as the Best Gallery and Museum in Arizona and ranked in the Top 20 International by the World Art Awards and the American Art Awards.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Herman is a former head swim coach for the Special Olympics. In more recent years, he has deepened his involvement in the artificial intelligence sector and plans to establish an AI learning center for religious studies, through which he aspires to attract a worldwide audience.
