LAGUNA BEACH, CA, November 14, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Beverly Newton has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional experience in human behavior in organization development and transition management, Ms. Newton was inspired by her mother, also a teacher, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease and dementia for more than thirty years. She has been driven to continue her service to those afflicted with the disease, sharing important "lessons learned" in the process of caregiving for loved ones.
Before embarking on her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from San Diego State University. She began her career as a flight attendant (historically known as a stewardess) with Pacific Southwest Airlines, a western regional air carrier. During the airline industry's transition through deregulation, governmental control was revised over such areas as fares, routes, and market entry of new airlines. Her first step as a flight attendant quickly climbed to levels including instructor, supervisor, and project manager.
As a member of the transition management team during the acquisition of PSA by US Airways, Ms. Newton was motivated to earn a Master of Science in Organizational Behavior Studies and Human Resources from the University of San Francisco. She takes pride in writing her Master's Thesis, "Organizational Culture Clash," examining post acquisition organizational financial performance as relevant to human factors effecting quality levels of customer service.
Most recently, Ms. Newton served as a member of the Leadership Council for UCI Mind, at the University of California Irvine. The mission of Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders is to "enhance the quality of life for older adults by researching genetic, clinical, and lifestyle factors that promote successful brain aging." Over the years, she also held board positions with American Society of Training and Development, Alzheimer's Association of Oraoge County and Alzheimer's Orange County.
Ms. Newton gained additional expertise in the construction industry as president of Meridian Performance Consulting, Manager of HR for Snyder Langston Construction and Vice President of the People Department of John Laing Homes.
Although her career was filled with highlights, she is most proud of training flight attendants team building and leadership skills during her time with PSA and U.S. Airways. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her parents teaching her passion for life-long learning. Looking ahead, Ms. Newton aims to reduce her involvement in various organizations so that she can spend more time in leisure and travel with friends.
