Born to Samuel and Eileen Schneider on February 23, 1970, Lieutenant Commander Schneider was driven to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Navy in January 1989. After graduating from Recruit Training Command San Diego, he attended Radioman "A" School, graduating with distinction in June 1989. Subsequently, he reported to the Commander of Submarine Forces Atlantic, began his first sea command on the U.S.S. Pharris, and reported to the Naval Computer Telecommunications Station in Keflavik, Iceland. Over the years, Lieutenant Commander Schneider successfully deployed to the Mediterranean Sea onboard the USS Barry. During that time, he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Qualification and furthered his expertise by attending the Inter-Service Radio Frequency Manager School.
After the turn of the century, Lieutenant Commander Schneider directed a team of over 80 information system technicians as the combat systems information officer on the U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower during two back-to-back deployments to the Arabian Gulf. Before transferring his extensive skill set to the civilian sector, he served as the Force Communications Officer for the Commander U.S. Fifth Fleet between 2010 and 2012. Driven to utilize his military expertise as a civilian, Lieutenant Commander Schneider joined Vectrus in 2013, providing direct and technical engineering expertise as the head of a 30-plus member team supporting maritime and fleet operations at NAVCENT. In the following years, he maintained responsibility for Vectrus' profits and losses regarding the $123-million Fleet Systems Engineering Team program. Today, Lieutenant Commander Schneider excels as the executive director of operations for V2X, formerly Vectrus, where he oversees profits and losses for a portfolio that generates $288 million in annual revenue while managing 40 contracts for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
As an expert in his field, Lieutenant Commander Schneider's commitment to learning is evident in his educational achievements. From earning an associate degree in supervisory leadership to receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, an MBA in information technology management, and an information security management certificate, his dedication to continued education is truly commendable.
While he has earned several Commendation and Joint Commendation Medals through the U.S. Navy, Lieutenant Commander Schneider is most proud of his overall journey in the military, from starting as an enlisted sailor to becoming a chief petty officer and commissioned officer, a milestone achieved only by a select few. Looking ahead, he intends to foster a small business specializing in farmer's market boutique goods alongside his wife Mitzi. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Lieutenant Commander Schneider's venture has expanded, which allowed them to open another storefront.
