Her leadership roles inspire others to strive for excellence, including her current position as the Chief of Staff for the U.S. Department of the Interior's Office of Financial Management (PFM). In her capacity, she oversees administrative, financial, and operational activities for the Deputy Chief Financial Officer/Director of the Office of Financial Management, ensuring the office's smooth operations. Before her tenure at the U.S. Department of the Interior, Ms. Snooks-Key was a Financial Management Specialist for the Office of Personnel Management. Furthermore, she was also a Budget and Fiscal Specialist and the alternate Federal Women's Program Manager for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, advocating for gender equality and supporting women's professional development.

During the early stages of her career, Ms. Snooks-Key gained valuable expertise as a Finance Specialist and Administrative Specialist for the New Jersey Army National Guard, an accounting technician for the United States Property and Fiscal Office, and a Clerk Typist and Principal Audit Account Clerk for the New Jersey Department of Insurance. Outside of governmental positions, she has honed her expertise with nonprofit organizations, including the Head Start program, Youth Advocacy, Ameri-Corps, and the Boys and Girls Club of America. Dedicated to her country, Ms. Snooks-Key served in the New Jersey Army National Guard as a sergeant between 1981 and 1996 and in the New Jersey Air Guard as a staff sergeant from 1996 until 2002. Her military excellence has been recognized through various awards, including an Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal and the Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal. Similarly, Women We Admire named Ms. Snooks-Key one of Maryland's Top 50 Women Leaders.

Cynthia D. Snooks-Key's commitment to her field is evident in her academic pursuits. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from the Kaplan College of Professional Studies, an accounting certificate through Prince George's Community College, and an MBA with Honors at American Public University. She has also completed various certifications through Cornell University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Organization, Management, and Executive Coaching at Liberty University.

She is an avid learner, driven to remain abreast of changes in the business field, and always ready to learn something new. Ms. Snooks-Key is a member of the Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority and the Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society. Outside of her professional endeavors and affiliations, she is a writer and the author of "The Essence of My Being," released in 2021.

Throughout her career, Ms. Snooks-Key has achieved much, inspiring those around her, including her daughter, who she always encouraged to pursue higher education, and she is now a successful doctor in the field of psychology. This shaped her path and pushed her to continue serving as a beacon for others. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in bringing a wealth of experience to her current role as Chief of Staff. Her tenure includes serving as a Contracting Officer Representative, a testament to her ability to direct and plan administrative and operational activities, organize and prioritize critical issues, and facilitate efficient decision-making.

Ms. Snooks-Key's success is a testament to her tenacity, resilience, and effective task prioritization. She attributes her achievements to her mentors, Consuela McDaniels, previous Director of the Mercer County Head Start program, and Martin Mooney, Sr., previous Assistant Prosecutor for the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, who recognized her abilities and valued her contributions. Looking ahead, she plans to start her own business, coaching and helping others, and she is passionate about working with children and providing support for older adults. Academically, she aims to complete the remaining Ph.D. classes in 2025 before focusing on her dissertation.
