Mr. Swafford's early career includes significant research roles, beginning as a Graduate Research Assistant at Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge from 2017 to 2019, where he conducted research for the U.S. Air Force. In 2014, he was honored to be one of only 12 students in the nation selected for NASA's Robotics Academy at the Marshall Space Flight Center. This prestigious program gave him invaluable experience in robotics and engineering. In 2019, Mr. Swafford interned with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, contributing to a critical project aimed at developing microgrids to safeguard utility systems against cyber threats.
Academically, Mr. Swafford earned his bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Tech from Grambling State University in the fall of 2014. In 2019, he went on to complete a master's degree in Materials Science Engineering at Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Swafford is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is dedicated to community service, including distributing food to the homeless and organizing church events. In his free time, he enjoys self-studying Spanish, playing the piano, working out, and watching sports. He credits his success to his people-oriented nature and his commitment to networking and building meaningful connections throughout his career.
