She is also the incoming president of the Arkansas Counseling Association and the current president of the Arkansas Addiction Professionals Association. In addition to her work-related endeavors, Dr. Burton is involved in civic activities, including volunteering with the Red Hat Society and various community organizations.
Dr. Burton has made significant contributions to academic literature. She contributes to the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision's SACES Newsletter and co-authored an article for the International Association for Resilience & Trauma Counseling.
