Recruited from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Dr. Cromlish was an assistant professor in Business Administration and was also the director of the graduate healthcare program from 2016 to 2020. She was also an adjunct professor in business and health management at Mitchell Community College in Statesville, North Carolina, between 2011 and 2016.
Prior to entering academia, Dr. Cromlish held several significant positions in the health care industry. She served as the Wesleyan Arms Retirement Center Campus administrator at Providence Place Continuing Care Retirement Center in High Point, North Carolina, from 2008 to 2010. She was also the chief executive officer and a skilled nursing facility administrator at Brian Center Hickory Viewmont in Hickory, North Carolina, between 2007 and 2008. Dr. Cromlish continually maintains two Administrator Licenses for both Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Cromlish found success as an entrepreneur. She was the president and owner of Talking Hands in Nashville, Tennessee, conducting research and developing customized officer safety hand signals for patrol, SWAT, narcotics and correctional officers. Dr. Cromlish was also the president and owner of Classy Celebrations in Salisbury, North Carolina, marketing and designing advertisements with business owners and publishing local coupon books to be sold through schools, churches and nonprofit organizations. Moreover, Dr. Cromlish discovered success as a volunteer sign language interpreter by interpreting for ten former U.S. presidents, vice presidents, first ladies and cabinet members and has also interpreted for many governors, senators and celebrities.
Dr. Cromlish's educational background is extensive. She earned a Master of Health Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University in 2011 and 2012, respectively. She also received a Doctor of Philosophy in management with a focus on designing sustainable systems from Case Western Reserve University in 2017.
In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Cromlish is actively involved in several industry-related organizations. She has been serving on the Ohio Employee Ownership Center advisory board at Kent State University since 2017, and she is also associated with BoardProspects. Previously, Dr. Cromlish was instrumental as a board member of the management consulting division at the worldwide Academy of Management from 2017 to 2020.
Dr. Cromlish's contributions extend beyond her professional life into civic engagements. She is a Board Member of Grace Haven, with a mission of providing Christian transitional housing for previously incarcerated women, where she and her husband lead a weekly Bible Study. She also actively participates in recruitment events for Ohio University. Her dedication to service is further evidenced by her involvement with her church community, where she regularly hosts 2 home groups: Christian Anxiety and a jazzy gospel hymn sing.
