Mr. Pilon's professional profile was further shaped by significant leadership positions such as vice president at Larson and Associates from 1996 to 1998 and vice president with HOK Consulting from 1994 to 1996, roles that allowed him to refine his strategic vision and leadership capabilities. He also succeeded in a series of foundational roles that included associate director at AT&T from 1988 to 1993 and vice president at Arcturis from 1986 to 1988, opportunities that provided valuable insights into corporate strategy and design implementation. Additional early experiences as the director at Branch and Taylor from 1984 to 1986 and the architectural project manager at Texas Instruments Incorporated from 1980 to 1984 provided Mr. Pilon with a strong technical background in architecture and project management.
Exceptional academic accomplishments further define Mr. Pilon's presence in the field. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University, which he earned in 1980, and he completed coursework in architecture at The University of New Mexico. Mr. Pilon attributes much of his success to being an Enneagram Type 3 – Achiever, which has driven him toward continuous learning and growth throughout his career.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Pilon was an active member in CoreNet Global for decades, reflecting his commitment to productive networking and remaining current in industry developments. He is also committed to civic service and has been a member of the planning commission for Park Township since 2022 and previously served as an elder at Beechwood Reformed Church from 2006 to 2008. Notably, Mr. Pilon also co-authored "Translating Research into Design" in 2010, showcasing a keen ability to bridge research with practical applications in design.
