After beginning his professional journey as a veterinarian in Reston, Virginia, Dr. Hinman transitioned into human medicine after returning to school for advanced education and training. Initially receiving a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in 1979, he then completed a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in 1983. Subsequently, Dr. Hinman attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, graduating in 1990. Following his medical education, he completed an internship and residency in anesthesiology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio between 1990 and 1994. During this time, Dr. Hinman contributed to developing modern burn resuscitation formulas and published research in an anesthesiology magazine article.
In addition to his degrees, Dr. Hinman received medical licenses in several states, including Alaska and California, and became double board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology. He also received certification in perioperative transesophageal echocardiography through the National Board of Echocardiography. Moreover, Dr. Hinman completed a fellowship in pain management at Stanford University in 2006.
Dr. Hinman's dedication to advancing medical knowledge is reflected in his memberships with several industry-related organizations, including the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Academy of Ozone Therapy and MedMasters. He is also a certified member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
