Mrs. Bennett is the owner and administrator of The Bennett Family Child Care LLC, a business she established at the age of twenty-one. Her center, located in a home setting, accommodates up to twelve children at a time and employs a staff of four. In her leadership role, her responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including changing diapers, managing entry and exit, overseeing drop-off and pick-up, managing education, feeding the children, and reporting to parents. Mrs. Bennett's career began with her role as a tutor for family and friends, where she honed her skills in working with children aged two to eleven years old. She has furthered her expertise through involvement with industry-related organizations, such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Mrs. Bennett's educational journey has been instrumental in shaping her career. She earned a Master of Education from Walden University in 2022 and a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and teaching from the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at the University of Cincinnati in 2015. Mrs. Bennett earned two associate degrees from Cuyahoga Community College in 2019 and 2012. She also holds a Child Development Associate credential in family childcare obtained in 2010 and is currently pursuing a doctoral program in educational leadership at Capella University. In addition to her extensive educational background, she attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family, including her grandmother, husband, and daughters.
As a result of her career accomplishments, Mrs. Bennett has been recognized with several accolades, such as an Achievement Award from an Early Childhood Education Program and the Golden Key International Award from the University of Cincinnati. She also earned two honors from Cuyahoga County for her outstanding work in childcare. Beyond her professional endeavors, she is deeply committed to civic engagement, serving as a youth director alongside her husband at New Hope Baptist Church located in Painesville, Ohio.
In her personal life, Mrs. Bennett enjoys participating in church activities, skating, and spending time with her family. Looking ahead, she aims to support children of all races and backgrounds by creating inclusive environments and job opportunities within her community through her new Child Care Center "Amazing Minds Learning Center," located in Willowick, Ohio. Her vision for the future also includes expanding her childcare services to accommodate more children while providing employment opportunities that exceed minimum wage standards.
