LINDENHURST, NY, December 04, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marissa G. Maniscalco has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Maniscalco is a licensed clinical social worker who provides telehealth therapy services with BeHealth and has been a team member since 2021. In her role, she works with adult patients who struggle with trauma, mood disorders, life transitions, and stress and utilizes Unified Protocol therapy to provide person centered virtual therapy services. She collaborates closely with her clinical team and team psychiatrist to ensure the best possible outcomes for their patients. Her expertise in mood disorders, trauma, self-care, and adjustments has been instrumental in her success with providing outstanding clinical services for BeHealth patients.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Maniscalco was acting clinical director at a busy substance use, alcohol, and mental health outpatient clinic. During her tenure, she established and managed their internship program that became a significant accomplishment in her career. She took pleasure in creating training programs, mentoring interns, and collaborating with schools to enhance the educational experience for future social workers. Her leadership in this role demonstrated her passion for personal growth and diversity within the field.

Ms. Maniscalco started her career framework by gaining experience interning in foster care, where she gained valuable experience in various aspects of social work such as trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, case management, collaborating with community resources and working with families. Her dedication to the field was evident from the start as she focused on trauma during her internship, continued to grow her education and training, taking on leadership roles in her places of employment and volunteer work, and strives to continue to uplift individuals, families, and the community. The challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic led her to seek new opportunities, ultimately guiding her to BeHealth. Despite facing burnout and personal challenges, including pregnancy with her first daughter, she embraced change as an opportunity for positive growth.

Additionally, she is a team lead on the Suffolk County Crisis Incident Stress Management Team (CISM), which underscores her commitment to positively impacting and uplifting her local community. During her time in undergrade and graduate school Ms. Maniscalco also volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) where she provided medical interventions and transportation for individuals suffering from illnesses and/or injury. For 10 years, Ms. Maniscalco served her community as an EMT, became the Chairman of the Membership committee, acting Mentor for new members, and served on their Stewart committee. Ms. Maniscalco also pursued a certification to become a CPR instructor. During this time period and currently, Ms. Maniscalco blends her skills as a social worker and EMT to provide brief interventions and debriefings to other first responders in Suffolk County who are greatly impacted by the work they do.

Her academic journey laid a strong foundation for her professional achievements. Ms. Maniscalco earned an associate degree in American Sign Language from Nassau Community College where her passion for helping others flourished and she pursued her degrees in social work. Her education equipped her with the skills necessary to excel in social work and pursue licensure as a clinical social worker in 2021.

Ms. Maniscalco attributes much of her success to the guidance of mentors throughout her career. She expresses gratitude to the administration at BeHealth for fostering an environment that allows her to provide the upmost quality of therapy services possible. Learning from administrators, elites in the field, and her own mentors has also been pivotal in shaping her professional journey. The support of leaders and mentors has provided invaluable guidance as she navigates the complexities of social work.

In her personal life, Ms. Maniscalco is a devoted mother to two daughters. Looking ahead, she plans to return to administrative roles. She aims to take on greater decision-making responsibilities within the company while reviving her passion for working with interns and mental health initiatives. Additionally, she hopes to offer a more specialized track for first responders, extending this initiative to benefit both the community and county at large.
