His tenure as an adjunct professor in the community college system, where he taught African studies and diversity courses for four years, further highlights his dedication to higher education.
Known for his success in bringing people together, Dr. Williams began his career as a teacher in Georgia and Alabama, where he spent over 25 years educating students from kindergarten through high school. His teaching repertoire included English, math, science, and career preparation courses. He also provided training for young teachers in the public school system, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing future educators. His efforts were recognized with several awards, including the Community Teacher of the Year Award from Wal-Mart in 2001.
In addition to his educational roles, Dr. Williams is actively involved in industry-related organizations. He served on the board of the Global Evangelical Accrediting Commission and is a member of the Brenau University Alumni Association. His contributions to education have been acknowledged with prestigious awards such as the Gold Presidential Lifetime Community Service Award from President Donald Trump in 2017 and the Customer Delight MENAA Education Award in Dubai in 2016.
Dr. Williams' academic journey began with an Associate of Arts in general studies with a minor in religion from Selma University in 1986, followed by a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education and teaching from Brenau University in 1996. He furthered his theological studies at The Great Commission Bible College & Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity in religion and religious studies in 1998, a Doctor of Arts in theology in 1999, and a PhD in theology in 2005. In 2013, he completed a Master of Education in educational leadership at Concordia University-Portland. His certifications include teaching credentials for Georgia and Alabama and chaplain certification from the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Williams is an ordained minister and preacher and serves as CEO and chairman of New Millennium Inc. He is also involved with United Way, reflecting his commitment to community service. His scholarly contributions include dissertations on the role of the Christian church and strategies for improving African American male behavior in classrooms. He is also a successful nonprofit and grant writing consultant, having produced more than $1 million in charitable income.
Beyond his career, Dr. Williams is a devoted family man with two children.
