Libertarians for Learning is now fundraising for scholarships to Hillsdale College for Active-Duty, Veteran or Military Dependents.
BILOXI, MS, December 05, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy Del Nagro Misko has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Misko founded the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Libertarians for Learning in April 2021 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic when schools, churches and businesses were required to close by Mayor La Toya Cantrell in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Misko was appalled by what she considered a massive violation of people's civil liberties, and she decided to do something about it. She knew children would be hurt the most since they grow up once and must have the basic skills of reading, writing, math, science, art and music: all the branches of human knowledge. Ms. Misko immediately installed a book box on her front lawn, filled it with children's pre-K through grade six workbooks and distributed them all over town, wherever she could. She added lending libraries filled with books focused on the libertarian principles of non-aggression, freedom for all human beings, free markets for trading in peace and freedom of speech, expression, assembly and association. Libertarians for Learning has underwritten a scholarship for "First- or Second-Generation College Students" at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, under the title "The Amy and Louis Misko Scholarship Fund."
Libertarians for Learning is now fundraising for scholarships to Hillsdale College for Active-Duty, Veteran or Military Dependents, and is already funded for year one at $5K of $20K. Hillsdale College offers a broad-based, classic liberty-based curriculum with an emphasis on American constitutional law. Ms. Misko just donated $10k to the Freedom Fest Foundation Scholarship Fund to pay for scholarships for attendance at the 4-day Annual Freedom Fest Convention. Libertarians for Learning endeavors to educate the next generation of "Liberty Loving Legislators." It accepts no taxpayer dollars and is solely funded by private donations. Libertarians for Learning promotes Education Savings Accounts for all children: "The money follows the child" approach for learning, minus union involvement. Further, the nonprofit promotes the abolition of all compulsory government schools on both the federal and state levels. To this end, Libertarians for Learning is embarking on fundraising to own, operate and maintain neighborhood schools.
