Prior to his current role, Mr. Neumann was a partner at what was at the time, the law firm of Bathgate, Wegener, Wouters & Newmann P.C., another law firm, where he developed his skills and expertise in bankruptcy and creditor/debtor law. Me. Neumann has been a speaker and panelist at numerous seminars and conferences, where he shares his knowledge and insights with peers and aspiring legal professionals. He was also appointed to serve on the very first local rules committee by the judges of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey tasked with promulgating court rules to govern cases after adoption of the current Bankruptcy Code. A notable moment in his career was when an opinion of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, In re Torwico, a Chapter 11 case in which he represented the debtor corporation, involving the intersection of bankruptcy and environmental law, was included in the textbook of his son's law school studies years later.
Mr. Neumann received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the New York University School of Law, graduated in the top 10% of his class, and is a recipient of the New York University Founders Day Award, given to "students who have distinguished themselves among their fellow students through consistent evidence of outstanding scholarship" and "thus achieved a place in the highest bracket of scholastic preferment recognized by the University." He attributes his interest in the law to his excellent college professors at Hobart College, in particular Professor Joseph DiGangi, who taught courses in constitutional law and civil liberties, and introduced Mr. Neumann to American jurisprudence. His interest in bankruptcy and commercial law he attributes to his extraordinary law school professors, Charles Seligson, Larry King, Homer Kripke, and Harvey Miller, in particular.
