She also verifies research data within medical records and acts as a liaison between the site, sponsor and biotechnology company in charge of a new trial.
Her storied career was born after graduating with a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Florida. Known for her professional longevity, Ms. Artigas began her career in 2012 as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Florida where she co-authored "Effects of Milnacipran on Clinical Pain and Hyperalgesia of Fibromyalgia Patients: Results of a 6 Week Randomized Controlled Trial," published by the Journal of Pain. She went on to serve at the Moffitt Cancer Center where she successfully authored and published "Coordinated Pembrolizumab and High Dose IL-2 (5-in-a-Row Schedule) for Therapy of Metastatic Clear Cell Renal Cancer" in Elsevier Inc. in 2022. As a Clinical Research Coordinator II at Tampa General Hospital she served as the lead Children's Oncology Coordinator and helped establish both an Orientation Program and the Unit Based Council for the Department of Clinical Research at TGH. Yesenia then moved into a Research Monitor role at IQVIA in 2020 and then ICON in 2023.
In addition to her primary career pursuits, Ms. Artigas is known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen. Ms. Artigas has served as a mentor for the American Medical Student Association, Chemistry Instructor for Community Science Outreach Program, Ronald McDonald House Volunteer, blood drive organizer for Florida Blood Services, and currently serves at her local church as a volunteer for children's services. She also sponsors a child in Ecuador through Compassion International, an organization that works to help children in need out of poverty and give them the resources needed to fulfill their potential. As a commitment to her professional field, she is a member of the Suncoast Chapter of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
