His career began in 1984 with the New York Department of Education, where he served as a teacher until his retirement in 2012. Before his tenure at Malcolm King College, Dr. Ojo taught art at John Dewey High School in New York City. He initially received an associate degree in graphic design from Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1971. Subsequently, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the New York Institute of Technology in 1974, a Master of Science in communication design from Pratt Institute in 1979 and a Doctor of Philosophy in art education from Columbia University in 1984. These academic accomplishments provided Dr. Ojo with a strong foundation for his career and artistic endeavors.
Dr. Ojo has been actively involved in numerous exhibitions showcasing his artistic talents throughout his career. His work has been featured in group exhibitions at prestigious venues, such as Ceres Gallery in New York, Skylight Gallery at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation's Center for Arts and Culture in Brooklyn, New York, and Rush Arts Gallery in New York.
