She has held numerous professional roles, culminating in her present position as the director of operations at the Liver Institute PLLC. Ms. Habib and her colleagues founded the Liver Institute PLLC in 2014 with ambitions to integrate the unique needs of both patients and providers with sustainable business practices. As part of her routine responsibilities since being appointed the director of operations in 2017, Ms. Habib has managed accounting procedures, taxes and related financial issues, and oversees patient scheduling, grievances and appeals. She previously served the company as its business development manager.
Notably, aligned with the World Health Organization's mandate to eradicate hepatitis C by 2030, the Liver Institute PLLC has established an active, community-based hepatitis C eradication project that has been approved by the Institutional Review Board. In addition, the company offers telehealth hepatology in five states and is will be expanding on it. Ms. Habib built a model for a Fatty Liver Clinic, designed to provide innovative care to reduce the risk of fatty liver disease by incorporating structured lifestyle intervention and psychological support services. The clinic will accept many forms of insurance and treat underprivileged patients free of charge, as well as use a novel standardized model to improve how providers care for fatty liver disease and increase patient accessibility. Ms. Habib's prime goal is to try to provide an option to minimize the suffering of people who suffer from liver disease.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Habib served as a business intern and then Medicare program coordinator at the University of Arizona Health Network from 2011 to 2014. Punctuating these appointments, she served as a financial analyst at Carondelet Health Network and an operations coordinator for a physician practice.
Ms. Habib earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and business management, with a minor in business law, from Drake University in 2010. Thereafter, she received a Master of Business Administration in health care administration from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona in 2012. Furthermore, she holds a certification in advanced grant writing.
Outside of her primary vocational ventures, Ms. Habib has maintained civic appointments in her community. A former grant writing coordinator for the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, she has also sponsored Casa de los Niños in Tucson, Arizona. Moreover, she is a valued member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Ms. Habib largely credits her team's collaboration throughout the years for her success. As technology continues to advance, the Liver Institute PLLC started telehealth services in August 2024 to address and overcome the shortage of doctors specializing in hepatology.
