Ms. Lockhart's professional achievements are numerous, but she takes the most pride in her leadership approach to urban education, which has significantly transformed her school community.

NEW YORK, NY, December 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marisol Lockhart has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After working for New York City Public Schools as a teacher and assistant principal for over fifteen years, Ms. Lockhart became a New York City Public Schools principal in 2019. In this capacity, she transformed her school community to one in which student discussions, professional learning, restorative practices, and community partnerships thrive. Ms. Lockhart strategically partners with various organizations to enhance the educational experience for her students. As an instructional leader, she consistently prioritizes academic rigor, data-driven instruction, and social emotional learning. She also engages with mentorship programs such as My Brother's Keeper and connects with other aspiring leaders and superintendents to ensure that the profession develops and sustains leadership. Her school is currently in the final stage of obtaining New York State approval to become a community school; this will allow the school to offer comprehensive after-school programs focused on leadership, social emotional learning, the arts, and music education.

An expert in her field, Ms. Lockhart holds a Bachelor's degree in sociology from Vassar College and a Master's degree with distinction in childhood education from Mercy University. Subsequently, she completed a second Master's degree in educational leadership at the Bank Street College of Education. Ms. Lockhart has also earned several leadership certifications through the Black Male Educators Alliance, Star Factor Coaching, the Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility, and Harvard University. Driven to stay current in the latest research, Ms. Lockhart aligns herself with various organizations and networks, including the New York State Association for Women in Administration, the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents, the Council of Supervisors and Administrators, and the New York City Elementary School Principals Association.

Ms. Lockhart's professional achievements are numerous, but she takes the most pride in her leadership approach to urban education, which has significantly transformed her school community. Due to her diverse knowledge and leadership experience, the Institute for Education Innovation provided Ms. Lockhart the opportunity to present her leadership journey to principals and superintendents at the New York State Leaders of Color for Education Conference. Subsequently, Ms. Lockhart was invited to participate at the New York State Association for Women in Administration panel titled "New York Women Who Lead, Encourage, and Empower" alongside the Chancellor of New York City Public Schools and other esteemed female leaders in the public and private sector. Ms. Lockhart was also selected to participate in the Gray Fellowship for Principal Excellence in 2020 and obtained her leadership coaching certification in emotional intelligence through Star Factor Coaching in 2022. As a result of her accomplishments, Ms. Lockhart will be honored as a recipient of the School Principal of the Year Womelle Voice Award in 2025.

While hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Ms. Lockhart credits her success to her family's support, particularly her mother and uncle, who taught her the importance of education and mentorship. She also notes that she would not be where she is today without her mentors. Looking towards the future, she has set her sights on district leadership and roles that will allow her to influence the education field significantly. Her ultimate goal is to inspire future leaders, positively impact children on a larger scale, and pursue her doctoral degree.
