Dr. Clark's professional journey is marked by significant roles that have contributed to her expertise. Since 2022, she has also worked as a clinical therapist at Charlie Health. Prior to this, she was a school-based services coordinator at Brighter Days Family Services in Houston for two years. Her experience includes serving as a clinical intern at Oakland County Children's Village in Pontiac from 2005 to 2007, where she honed her skills in clinical therapy. She also imparted knowledge as an assistant professor of psychology at Southern University System from 2015 to 2018 and gained practical experience during her school psychology practicum at The University of Southern Mississippi School Psychology Service Center from 2008 to 2012. Early in her career, she served as a clinical therapist at Covenant House New Orleans in 2007.
Dr. Clark's contributions to her field include presenting on "Using telehealth to overcome common barriers in therapeutic treatment faced by people of color" at Nami Keystone in Harrisburg in 2023 and conducting a virtual workshop on "Neurodivergence and BIPOC communities" for Charlie Health. Dr. Clark's academic background laid the foundation for her successful career. She earned her doctorate in school psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2013 after serving as a graduate student representative while pursuing her bachelor's degree there until 2011. She completed a Master of Arts in clinical psychology policies and procedure committee at The University of Detroit Mercy in 2007 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2003. Her graduate research project and dissertation has been cited in other works over 200 times since publication; this was a pivotal project that has shaped and guided her career.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Clark has been an active participant in the cultural life of New Orleans through her involvement with a Mardi Gras dance troupe for over five years. Her passion for dancing is matched by her ambitious goals for expanding mental health services to BIPOC communities through Charlie Health. Driven by the belief that helping one person can indirectly impact many more, she is dedicated to fostering healing and well-being across society.
