    FAYETTEVILLE, NC, December 17, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Greta Melissa Evans, DCC, MMA, MHRD, MHA, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Across 40 years, Dr. Evans demonstrated a capacity to adapt and succeed in varied fields in spite of many challenges. Since 2020 she has operated GPS Consultants (GPSConsultant.net), where she specializes in business coaching, development and counseling. Prior to founding GPS Consultants, Dr. Evans collaborated with the United States government in an education and work program from 2013 to 2020. For nearly five years, she served as an American Red Cross First Aid and CPR instructor for the Cumberland County School District, successfully implementing a program fulfilling legislation requiring CPR training for all high school graduates in North Carolina. Dr. Evans' varied experiences include positions as director of a Job Corps Center, athletic director, retail store manager, guidance counselor, an educator in biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, physical, environmental, and health sciences.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Evans spent more than 11 years with Procter & Gamble, beginning in 1990. She took on such roles as production department manager, integrated risk department manager, packing department manager, amines department manager, utilities manager and site quality manager. Dr. Evans amassed many accomplishments with Procter & Gamble, including planning and executing site-wide drills, conducting analyses in preparation for union negotiations, increasing productivity while reducing incident rates, and contributing to improvements in training and advancement of women in her department. Her professional corporate management life started as a production manager at Corning Incorporated, where she later took on additional responsibilities as a work system manager and training coordinator.

In addition to her primary vocation, Dr. Evans has built up a commendable record of military service in the United States Army and the Army Reserves. After attending officer candidate school on Army Active Duty, she was assigned on as the first female officer to an air defense artillery unit at Fort Bragg. Dr. Evans has pushed past gender barriers and expectations. Serving as a quartermaster officer, as logistics officer and only female to an 82nd Airborne unit for Urgent Fury, as battalion logistics officer, and as first female company commander in the group. Later during her time as an Army Reserves logistics officer with the 78th Training Division in 1991, she was ordered to active duty during Operation Desert Storm. Her efforts during this conflict were recognized with a military award and promotion to the rank of major.

Dr. Evans' performance in both military and professional life has been born of her academic journey, beginning with a Bachelor of Science with honors from Winston-Salem State University in 1979. She obtained two Masters of Arts, m the areas of Management Human Resource Development from Webster University in 1986. Dr. Evans completed coursework at Jacksonville University College of Law and completed an Associate's in Business Administration and Human Resource Management at Fayetteville Technical Community College. Subsequently, she earned her Master of Arts from Ashford University in Healthcare Administration from in 2016 and a Doctorate in Christian Counseling in 2023.

Well-regarded for her achievements, Dr. Evans has received several accolades, including military awards. She was presented with the Golden Globe Award by Procter and Gamble in recognition of her excellent guidance in saving on net assets. Dr. Evans attributes her success to the example set by her mother, who worked three jobs to support her family. Additionally, she notes the importance of determination and a positive attitude in her journey, embracing the mantra: "Each Morning, A Fresh Start, A New Beginning, A New Opportunity to - Be the Difference."

Outside of her career, Dr. Evans is a devoted mother to two children who have earned graduate degrees in the medical field. As a disabled veteran, she enjoys reading and growing flowers and vegetables in her free time. As she moves forward, Dr. Evans is writing a book on spirituality which stemmed from her dissertation. She hopes to share her ideas with a wider audience while spreading the values of hope, caring, and understanding.
