In addition to his field work, Mr. Newell has contributed to the industry with over 100 technical papers and presentations.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Newell also gained valuable expertise in recycling and manufacturing through executive leadership roles with Newell Shredder, Newell Industries, Newell Magnets, Newell Manufacturing Company, Newell Salvage Company, and Eumet. Devoted to his country, Mr. Newell also served in the ROTC during the late-1950s.
An expert in his field, Mr. Newell studied at Trinity University and Baylor University in 1959. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing coursework in mechanics and welding at Arizona State University and correspondence law at Lasalle University. Driven to stay abreast of ongoing industry changes, he is affiliated with the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries and the World Scrap Dealers Association. In addition to his professional endeavors and affiliations, Mr. Newell has contributed to his community through the Baptist Memorial Hospital System and Mission Road Foundation.
Mr. Newell's professional achievements have been recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, a significant milestone in his career.
