Ms. Valls joined the Cedars-Sinai Health System in 2016 and was quickly promoted to the manager of digital and strategic products and programs. In her role, she reported to the executive director and played a vital role in shaping and directing high-impact roadmaps for digital health and EMR products and programs. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Valls served as a process improvement consultant at the SwedishAmerican Health System, a nonprofit regional health care system that integrated with UW Health, from 2014 to 2016. There, she helped create a Lean Management System and embedding it across all levels of leadership and implemented rapid improvement events initiatives and value stream mapping. Ms. Valls began her career at Epic Systems in Verona, Wisconsin, in 2012, where she remained for two years.
Ms. Valls' resilience and adaptability have been shaped by diverse experiences that broadened her worldview, from being displaced by Hurricane Katrina during university to studying French at the French-Swiss border. With a Bachelor of Arts in classical studies and English literature from Rice University and a Master of Theological Studies from the University of Notre Dame, Ms. Valls developed the ability to synthesize complex ideas and address philosophical and ethical challenges. Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a graduate of UCLA's Technical Management Program, she applies her unique background in health care technology and lean management within clinical operations to transform health care delivery.
