She also worked for Emison Hullverson LLP from 2006 to 2007 before transitioning to Hanson Crawford Crum LLP from 2007 to 2012. Ms. Guillen's academic background includes obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Criminal Justice, with Honors, from Sonoma State University in 1995. After that, she obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of California, School of Law, San Francisco in 2000. During law school, Lina was selected as Best Oral Advocate for Moot Court and served as an Extern for the Honorable Judge Susan Illston for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, where she reviewed Habeas Corpus claims and other federal cases before the Court. Ms. Guillen was admitted to practice law by the State of California in 2000 and became a certified mediator by the prestigious Center for Understanding in Conflict in 2009.
