Mr. Weberg has established a distinguished career in the field of medical affairs, with a focus on Laser Vision Correction and cataract surgery. As a medical affairs executive, he has been self-employed since 2023, providing consulting services to various companies while remaining open to new opportunities. With 32 years of experience in his profession, he is recognized for his expertise in strategy, evidence-based data analysis and driving best practices through evidenced based data driven education. His career is marked by significant achievements, including training nearly 10,000 physicians on numerous Medical devices used in laser vision correction and cataract surgery around the globe with his team and contributing to the approval of laser surgery in over 70 countries. Additionally, he and his team have conducted approximately 1,000 post-market studies globally.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Weberg served as vice president of medical affairs at New World Medical from 2022 to 2023 after contributing as the chief commercial officer at Clerio Vision Inc. for the preceding three years. His tenure at Johnson & Johnson Vision as global director of medical affairs from 2017 to 2019 further solidified his reputation in the industry. Earlier in his career, he held various positions at Abbott, including global director of medical affairs from 2015 to 2017 and associate director of post-market studies from 2010 to 2015.

Mr. Weberg has also contributed to VISX Technologies and Advanced Medical Optics from 1997 to 2009, where he served as director of marketing, senior global marketing manager, applied engineer for new business development and manager of technical support and training. Notably, he was an associate director of biomedical engineering at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia from 1992 to 1995. He has been the recipient of numerous internal company awards throughout his career.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Weberg holds patents for on eye scopes and a sterile handheld refractive surgery slit lamp illumination system. Furthermore, he is a member of the ASTTBC and the Biomedical Engineering Group and has served as a volunteer with Orbis International.

Mr. Weberg's educational background includes a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, obtained in 1990. He also completed coursework in pre-med at Langara College in 1988 and sciences at Thompson Rivers University in 1985. His certification as an insurance consultant for life by the California Department of Insurance in 2017 complements his diverse skill set.

In his personal life, Mr. Weberg enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He attributes much of his professional success to the influence of VISX and the strong work ethic instilled in him by his parents and grandparents. Looking ahead, he aspires to pass on his experiences to younger generations, helping them accelerate their learning while re-instilling the work ethic taught by his family into future generations.
