Former leader of The City of Milwaukee, Mayor Tom Barrett, honored her by proclaiming June 26 as "Karole Kimble Day."

Ms. Kimble has established herself as a prominent figure in strategic communications, DEI and community engagement. As the chief executive officer, chief communications officer, contracted executive/consultant and fixer extraordinaire at Kimble Communications Inc., she has been at the helm of her company since 1994. Before founding her company, Ms. Kimble was a reporter and newscaster on both radio and television. Her leadership involves overseeing executive-level strategic communication initiatives, DEI policy & programs and branding efforts for a diverse clientele, including government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. Ms. Kimble also leads a team of subcontractors and collaborates with various organizations to enhance community engagement, with a strong focus on crisis communications, diversity, equity and inclusion.
During her tenure at Kimble Communications, Ms. Kimble was the vice president and general manager of Sykes Communications, Inc. from 1998 to 2002. She also held various other positions, including chief marketing officer and chief operations officer at Diagnostic Imaging LLC between 2002 and 2006. Among other career opportunities, she was the community engagement and communications manager at ResCare Workforce Services from 2015 to 2018 and the business development and community engagement manager at the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority between 2018 and 2020.
Ms. Kimble's professional journey began with internships at CBS in Milwaukee during the 1980s, where she gained valuable experience in broadcasting. After completing her education, she returned to Milwaukee as an assistant news director at a local radio station. Ms. Kimble then transitioned into consulting for politicians and minority-owned businesses, ultimately founding her firm emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A graduate of Saint Augustine's University in North Carolina, Ms. Kimble holds a Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature since 1992. She also received an honorary Master of Business Administration from Spring Arbor University in Michigan in 1998. She emphasizes that these educational achievements have been instrumental in shaping her career path and success.
Ms. Kimble's career is marked by her involvement in numerous organizations. Her commitment to social justice is evident through her role as an executive team member at Rid Racism Milwaukee since 2015. She has also been a member of the board of directors for Renaissance Theaterworks since 2019 and an executive member of the board of directors for the Center for Veterans Issues, LTD since 2020. Furthermore, Ms. Kimble is passionate about community building and facilitates and trains workshops with Community Building International, an institute based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In recognition of her contributions to community engagement, Ms. Kimble received several accolades, including the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Community Engagement from the University of Wisconsin System in 2015 and being named Black Achiever of the Year by the YMCA of North Milwaukee. Looking ahead, Ms. Kimble aims to retire within a few years to be more present with her children as they transition into college.
