Before retiring from active duty in September, Mr. Fournier served as an aerospace engineer and military deputy with PEO Aviation, where he was tasked with high-level responsibilities requiring Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. From 2021 to 2023, he was a project manager for the Next Generation Interceptor (Black Team) at the Missile Defense Agency, where he made significant contributions to global missile defense through research and development and nuclear effects testing. His earlier roles include serving as chief of staff to the deputy commanding general at United States Army Futures Command and as project manager for field operations at the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). Additionally, he was deputy director and program manager for information-communication and technology at NATO from 2017 to 2018.
Mr. Fournier's academic background has been instrumental in shaping his career trajectory. He earned a Master of Science in international relations and national security studies from the United States Army War College in 2020, which provided him with a comprehensive understanding of global security dynamics. He also holds a Master of Science in engineering and industrial management from the University of Miami, completed in 2005, and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the University of Connecticut, obtained in 1995. His education has been complemented by an Executive Project Management Certification from Defense Acquisition University in 2021, further enhancing his leadership skills.
Throughout his career, Mr. Fournier has been recognized for his exceptional service and dedication. He was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal in 2023, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to national defense. Beyond his professional achievements, he is actively involved with civic organizations such as the Association of the U.S. Army, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans, where he volunteers his time to support fellow veterans.
