Before being acquired by Octant Associates LLC, Mr. Ibanez was a project manager in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2013 to 2024. His military service included active duty from 2013 to 2020 and reserve duty until 2024. During his time in the military, Mr. Ibanez honorably completed two deployments and traveled to approximately 20 countries, experiences that significantly shaped his understanding of global cultures and perspectives.
Mr. Ibanez's professional journey also included a brief tenure as an analyst at Oxford Analytica in 2022. This role allowed him to hone his analytical skills and deepen his understanding of international policy issues. His diverse experiences across military and civilian sectors have equipped him with a unique perspective on global affairs.
Mr. Ibanez holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Emory University in Atlanta since 2023 and a master's degree in national security policy studies from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He was also awarded The Colin Powell Fellowship by BPIA and is a Truman National Security Project-Defense Fellow and a Foreign Policy for America #NextGen Fellow. These academic achievements have shaped his career path and enabled him to contribute effectively to his field.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Ibanez is actively involved in civic organizations, such as MORS in Washington D.C. and NextGen USA. He is also the vice president of education and exchange of the Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA) since 2023. In this capacity, Mr. Ibanez is dedicated to supporting high school students and early career professionals, mainly from underrepresented communities.
