She earned a Bachelor of Science in public health from the University of Michigan, Flint, in 2021. Subsequently, she expanded her professional expertise by becoming a certified community health worker through the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance. Driven to stay abreast of changes in various fields, she aligns herself with several organizations, including the Music Teachers National Association, the Michigan Music Teachers Association, and the Flint Music Teachers Association.
Ms. Schutt's dedication to her community is truly inspiring. In addition to her professional endeavors and affiliations, she has volunteered with numerous organizations, including FOCUS Detroit, Catholic Charities, Habitat for Humanity, Center for Hope Soup Kitchen, North End Soup Kitchen, Carriage Town Ministries, the Flint Orthodox Christian Fellowship, and the International Orthodox Christian Charities. Her service with the hospital elder life program at Hurley Medical Center is a testament to her unwavering commitment. For her steadfast dedication, Ms. Schutt was honored with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Schutt takes the most pride in her role as a community health worker. Over the years, she has faced numerous challenges where her compassion and resourcefulness could shine. In addition to intervening in cases of homelessness, she has helped those in abusive situations, those with job and food insecurities, and much more.
Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Ms. Schutt credits her success to her family's support and guidance, being raised in a nurturing church environment, and learning compassion at a young age. Within the coming years, she intends to remain in her role with Genesys PHO and continue her involvement in music education. Ultimately, Ms. Schutt would like to obtain a teaching certificate.
