BEVERLY HILLS, CA, January 09, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Suzanne Marie Wallach, Psy.D, LMFT, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Hailing from more than 15 years of experience in health care, psychology, and therapy, Dr. Wallach has distinguished herself as the owner and chief executive officer of Suzanne Wallach and Associates, as well as SoCal DBT in Los Angeles. Founded in 2012, Suzanne Wallach and Associates provides treatment for patients struggling with addiction, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, and more. With a focus on practicing mindfulness, regulating emotions, and learning tolerance in moments of great distress, SoCal DBT specializes in dialectical behavior therapy treatment with a blend of individual psychotherapy and group skills training courses to help people discover new skills to enhance their lives and overcome challenges.

As the chief executive officer of both companies, Dr. Wallach oversees all operations and manages employees, engages in regular meetings with clinical directors, and conducts face-to-face therapy sessions and remote sessions or home visits when needed. Her areas of expertise include substance abuse, complex trauma, eating disorders, and borderline personality disorder.

Dr. Wallach's storied career began at the California Family Counseling Center, where she worked as a therapist trainee before serving as a marriage and family therapist intern at the Maple Counseling Center from 2008 to 2010. She then spent three years as a psychotherapist at a private practice and as a therapist at numerous high-end substance-use residential treatment centers before ascending to the position of licensed marriage and family therapist at the Mental Health Center at Cedars Sinai Medical Officer Towers in 2012. During the same year, she established Suzanne Wallach and Associates and has successfully operated her practices ever since.

Before venturing onto her vocational path, Dr. Wallach pursued an equally strong education. She obtained a Master of Arts in clinical psychology from Philips Graduate University and completed basic training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy at the Sonoma Psychotherapy Institute. To expand her knowledge and expertise, she earned a Doctor of Psychology with a concentration in marriage and family therapy from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2014. She completed the Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at the Psychoanalytic Center of California in 2015. She was also intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy at Behavioral Tech, founded by Dr. Marsha Linehan, who developed DBT.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Dr. Wallach is a proud volunteer at her daughter's school and works with The Gentle Barn and A Purposeful Rescue, both of which engage in efforts to provide factory farm and domestic animal care and rescue services. To remain aware of developments within her professional field, she is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the EMDR International Association.
In a career filled with professional and personal milestones, Dr. Wallach takes the most fulfillment in watching her patients progress through therapy and alter the course of their lives for the better. Her belief in therapy's transformative power inspires her daily as she works to support her patients in their aim to attain healthier lives.

Looking back on her success, Dr. Wallach attributes her accomplishments to the invaluable lessons from mentors and teachers who guided her along her path and helped her learn to use mistakes as learning opportunities. Bringing the same philosophy to her practices, she emphasizes to her employees that new challenges provide crucial guidance and can be stepping stones to success. She also credits her determination to persevere in the face of doubts elsewhere, particularly when aspiring to establish her private practices and to understand the importance of growing a small business at a measured rate.

Having successfully beaten cancer and approaching the end of her chemotherapy in 2024, Dr. Wallach looks to the future with optimism and determination. She aims to train more clinicians in Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help arrest the current shortage. She wants to open a sliding-scale clinic within SoCal DBT so that more underserved communities can obtain vital services when needed. With her expertise, empathy, and perseverance, she is uniquely positioned to continue saving and improving lives while making a lasting impact on her community and professional field.
