Her most recent roles included serving as the assistant head of school for academics, upper school director and the K-12 director of teaching and learning from 2016 to 2024. In these capacities, she was instrumental in transforming the upper school by enhancing the core curriculum and doubling its size. She collaborated closely with teachers and the board to develop strategic learning plans, underscoring her commitment to educational excellence.
Beginning her storied tenure at San Domenico in 2005, Ms. Reeser held dual roles as the middle school academic dean and English teacher, building her expertise in English education and administration. From 2009 to 2014, she held multiple positions at the school, including middle school English chair, literacy coordinator and high school advisor. Her leadership extended to overseeing the lower school as well, where she served as director from 2014 to 2016. During this period, she focused on integrating innovative teaching methods and fostering a supportive learning environment for students across all grade levels.
Prior to her time at San Domenico, Ms. Reeser began her educational career in the Teton County School District, where she taught middle and high school English from 1997 to 2004. Her passion for teaching was evident early on as she covered all areas of English at the high school level, including advanced placement and honors courses.
Ms. Reeser's own academic background includes a Master of Arts in teaching with a focus on English from the University of Vermont in 1998 and a Bachelor's degree from the University of San Francisco in 1995. These academic achievements have been pivotal in shaping her approach to education, allowing her to make meaningful contributions throughout her career.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Reeser is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. Since 2024, she has volunteered as a writing tutor and English teacher at San Quentin State Prison and Rehabilitation. She visits twice a week, driven by her belief in the power of redemption and education. In her personal life, she enjoys various athletic pursuits such as skiing, yoga and trail running. Also an avid writer on Substack, she is currently working on leadership and design projects.
Looking to the future, Ms. Reeser is considering starting a consulting business focused on K-12 schools to share her extensive experience in developing strategies for teaching excellence. She aims to change the education system for the better by promoting equitable access for all students, particularly marginalized groups.
