While pregnant with her youngest child, Ms. Hannaford suffered the devastating loss of her husband, Kevin J. Hannaford, Sr., who was killed in the September 11th attacks. With the support of her community, she found strength during this trying time and later decided to give back in a meaningful way. To honor her husband's legacy, she founded the Kevin J. Hannaford, Sr. Foundation, an organization that provides support and scholarships to children who have lost parents for various reasons.

As the foundation's president, Ms. Hannaford oversees initiatives that include scholarship programs, grief counseling, and community-building activities. In this role, she coordinates the foundation's mission, manages its marketing and communications, and nurtures relationships within the community. To date, the foundation has provided financial support and emotional relief to countless families, offering them hope and a sense of belonging during times of profound difficulty.

In recognition of her efforts, Ms. Hannaford was honored with the New Jersey Irish American Leaders Award in 2020 and 2021. She was also awarded an honorary degree from Seton Hall Preparatory School.

Ms. Hannaford's professional background further reflects her dedication to service and leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Marist College and an MBA from St. Peter's College. She is also a certified paralegal and CPR practitioner. Before leading the foundation, Ms. Hannaford served as an administrative assistant at DeForest & Duer, assistant to the academy director at Marist College, and vice president of the general aviation department at U.S. Aviation Underwriters, Inc.

Beyond her foundation, Ms. Hannaford has been an active supporter of numerous charitable and faith-based organizations, including the Church of Saint James, the St. Catharine & St. Margaret Parish Family, Tuesday's Children, Operation Smile, and the Special Olympics. She is also a Eucharistic minister for the Roman Catholic Church.

Ms. Hannaford's accomplishments are rooted in her commitment to personal growth, faith, and giving back to the community. She reflects, "Turning my own loss into an opportunity to help others has been the most rewarding aspect of my life. The support of my family, friends, and community has been essential in this journey."
