Mr. Suphap has established himself as a distinguished Lecturer in the Discipline of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. Prior to this role, Mr. Suphap was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Columbia's Undergraduate Creative Writing Program, where he taught writing workshops. A significant focus of Mr. Suphap's teaching is on developing students' hybrid-genre writing skills, particularly on social justice and advocacy, fostering their ability to articulate complex ideas authentically and effectively.

In addition to his role at Columbia, Mr. Suphap has been a faculty member at Bard College, where he taught in the renowned Language and Thinking Program. His commitment to writing and literature extends beyond academia; in 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, he founded the multi-genre literary journal, The Plentitudes, to provide a space for diverse literary expressions and narratives. His dedication to amplifying underrepresented perspectives is further evidenced by his recent tenure as an Open City Fellow at the Asian American Writers' Workshop.

Mr. Suphap's career journey began in the legal field. Dual qualified as a New York attorney and a Hong Kong solicitor, he served as in-house counsel at Morgan Stanley from 2014 to 2019 and spent nearly a decade as a senior corporate attorney at Latham & Watkins and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He started his legal career as a corporate attorney at Clifford Chance after gaining experience as a summer associate at White & Case and Baker McKenzie. His transition from law to academia marks a significant milestone in his career, driven by a desire for deeper fulfillment and meaningful contribution.

Mr. Suphap holds a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude with departmental honors, in Economics and Political Science from Columbia College; a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, where he was awarded the Parker School Recognition of Achievement in International and Comparative Law; and a Master of Fine Arts in Nonfiction Writing from Columbia University School of the Arts, where he was awarded the Lenfest Fellowship and Teaching Fellowships. His time as a Visiting Scholar in British Politics and International Law at Magdalen College, University of Oxford, further enriched his global interdisciplinary perspective.

Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Mr. Suphap is actively involved in civic organizations. He serves as an executive board member and executive committee member for APIA Scholars and is vice president and executive board member of the Columbia LGBTQ+ Pride Alumni Association. His commitment to advocacy is evident through his roles as co-founder and co-chair of the Hong Kong LGBTQ+ Attorneys Network (HKGALA). His advocacy work and commitment to social justice have been recognized globally with numerous awards, including being named as a Global Top 5 OUTstanding LGBTQ+ Future Leader and a Top 10 Diversity Consultant on the Global Diversity List for consecutive years.

Born in Bangkok, Thailand and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, Mr. Suphap has had a long-held passion for writing and literature. He is currently working on a cultural memoir that explores the experiences of the Thai immigrant experience, emphasizing the cultural importance of food, inheritance, and community in shaping identity.
