Based in Austin, Texas, Mr. Cohan currently leads Accenture's U.S. Public Service Strategy & Consulting practices, working with nationwide legislators, governors, and heads of agencies on issues related to technology, health and human services, infrastructure, transportation, workforce, education, and regulation. His consulting work involves planning and implementing large and complex system modernizations and transformations in the public sector, including financial and human capital management, operations, program and service delivery, and recently, the use of artificial intelligence as an emerging digital technology.

Before joining Accenture, Mr. Cohan was a Senior Managing Partner and Public Sector industry lead with Gartner Consulting in Stamford, Connecticut (2009-2015). In this role, he helped government and higher education clients address complex technology and business issues, drawing from Gartner's best practice set and his expertise in public sector management. Previously, he was Vice President of the Public Sector at Sierra Systems (2003-2009), Executive Vice President at EpicEdge Inc. (1999-2003), and founder/principal of Dynamic Professional Services (1997-1999). At Dynamic, he established a government consulting business, later selling it to EpicEdge in 1999. He began his career in public service working for the State of Texas.

Throughout his career, Mr. Cohan has guided public sector clients in implementing innovative solutions and leading practices. He has also developed groups of professional practitioners on how to support organizations in implementing new technologies within the public sector.

Mr. Cohan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and MIS from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1992. In 2023 and 2024, he completed professional development certifications in artificial intelligence at MIT. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1994 with the Texas State Board of Public Accounting.

Mr. Cohan presents and serves as a panelist at various public sector conferences on topics ranging from technology to management and best practices. He has co-authored several publications, including recent pieces for Accenture on artificial intelligence in the Public Sector, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers on digital and cloud computing, and Government Executive Route Fifty on Federal Funds Management.

Looking ahead, Mr. Cohan will remain focused on bringing innovation to the public sector. He will also be particularly focused on intelligent automation and the impact it will have on supporting public servants and public institutions in delivering services to constituents.
