Prior to her current role, Ms. Fordice was the owner of Maid Brigade from 1999 to 2023. During this time, she honed her entrepreneurial skills and gained significant experience in managing a business. Concurrently, she served as president and chief executive officer of Mental Health America of Greater Houston from 1999 to 2018. In this capacity, she led initiatives to improve mental health services and advocated for policy changes.

One of Ms. Fordice's most notable achievements occurred in the early to mid-2000s when she collaborated with community and corporate leaders in Houston to advocate for equal coverage for mental health in employer benefit programs. This initiative successfully encouraged several major energy companies to voluntarily enhance their benefits packages to include mental health coverage, demonstrating the positive impact of such support.

Ms. Fordice's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in child development and family studies from South Dakota State University, which she earned in 1984. Her education laid the foundation for her career in medical, health care, and mental illness-related issues. She has worked with prestigious organizations such as Rice University, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and various medical schools in southern California and Chicago. She is also a senior fellow of the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute.

Ms. Fordice attributes her success to the individuals she has collaborated with throughout her career and the strong relationships she has built. She believes that working with like-minded people who are deeply committed to driving change has been pivotal in accomplishing impactful and meaningful work.

In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Fordice is actively involved in several civic-minded organizations. She has served as a board member for Veterans Advocacy Services Training since 2021 and as the executive director of The Harris Center Foundation for Mental Health and IDD since 2020. Previously, she was a board member for The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD from 2017 to 2019 and the Lone Star Veterans Association from 2013 to 2019. She is also a founding member of the Children's Memorial Fund and a participant in the American Leadership Forum.

Ms. Fordice has contributed to projects such as "From Combat to the Community" since 2011, reflecting her commitment to supporting veterans' transition to civilian life.
