As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An accomplished law enforcement professional and renowned motivational speaker, Mr. Piro excels as the founder of the eponymous Piro Global Services, Inc., which provides investigative, intelligence, and security consulting services. In this capacity, he assists organizations in navigating complex international security environments, focusing on the Middle East. Before establishing his business, he was a special agent-in-charge of the FBI's Miami Field Office. Over the years, Mr. Piro has worked for the FBI in various roles, including assistant director of the International Operations Division, deputy assistant director for the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate, director of the High-Value Interrogation Group, supervisory special agent in the Counterterrorism Division, and member of FBI's Elite Counterterrorism Rapid Deployment Team.

Throughout his tenure with the FBI, Mr. Piro oversaw several international FBI offices, including the Miami field office, the agency's fourth largest in the United States, responsible for South Florida, The Caribbean, and Central and South America. Similarly, he developed counterterrorism expertise and spent most of his operational time serving abroad, including assignments in Iran, Afghanistan, and Iraq. One of the standout moments of his career was interrogating Saddam Hussein for seven months following his capture. During the early stages of his career, he gained valuable expertise as an investigator with the County District Attorney's Office and as a police officer with the Ceres Police Department. As a motivational speaker, Mr. Piro shares his insights on leadership and team building that he has gained from years of unique experiences in the FBI.

An expert in his field, Mr. Piro holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Chapman University and a Master of Arts in security studies with a concentration in international security and a master's certificate in Arab studies from Georgetown University. In light of his professional accomplishments, he has also been featured on 60 Minutes, won the National Intelligence Medal for Achievement from the Director of National Intelligence, and received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Piro credits his success to his many positive influences, including his father, who has been his biggest role model, his mother, and the many mentors he has had throughout his career. Looking forward, he intends to expand his consultancy and leverage his considerable international experience to make a lasting impact. Ultimately, Mr. Piro also aims to write a book about his experience interrogating Saddam Hussein.
