He is a fomer Assistant State's Attorney for the Criminal Division of Cook County.
Among numerous substantial cases, Mr. Ciardelli notes a memorable one that attracted widespread media attention. He represented a Chicago Luvabull who sued the San Diego Chicken for throwing her to the ground during a time out of a Chicago Bulls basketball game, fracturing her elbow. Mr. Ciardelli sued for personal injury against the Chicken, and received a jury verdict of $317,000.
Mr. Ciardelli prepared for his career by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from DePaul University, both in Chicago. He was also admitted to practice by the Illinois State Bar Association in 1960.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ciardelli has been an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice (formerly Trial Lawyers Association of America). In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Ciardelli was named the Man of the Year by the Lucchesi Nell Mondo in Luca, Italy. As a prominent professional and community member, he was honored to throw out the first pitch at the 2010 Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game.

As of the time of this interview he has been married for over 60 years to a wonderful wife, Nancy. They have four children, who are each successful in their own lives, such as a daughter who is a successful attorney, a son who started one of the top seven mortgage companies in the U.S., a daughter who is a successful real estate broker, and a younger son who runs a large mortgage company. He is blessed with 12 grandchildren who are talented and smart and pursuing their work in education.
