CHURCH POINT, LA, January 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Ford has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Ford, a dedicated band director at Church Point Middle School and High School in Church Point, Louisiana, has made significant strides in revitalizing the school's band program since his appointment in 2023. Since joining the school, he has been instrumental in managing all the bands and teaching music to sixth-grade through twelfth-grade students. Mr. Ford's leadership has also been pivotal in overcoming various challenges, such as the absence of a band director and the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on the program. Under his guidance, the band has seen renewed enthusiasm and growth, with students actively participating in mentoring roles, honor bands, and preparing for their first concert evaluation.
Before relocating to Louisiana, Mr. Ford began his teaching career at a rural school in Alabama, where he taught for one year before pursuing further education. His passion for music was initially nurtured while pursuing his undergraduate degree in college.
Mr. Ford's academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in music education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree from William Carey University in 2022. His education has equipped him with essential skills for addressing challenges and fostering a positive learning environment. Mr. Ford's involvement with the Mississippi Lions All-State Band during high school also provided unique experiences that have shaped his teaching philosophy and approach to program development.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Ford is an active member of the Louisiana Music Educators Association and has been involved with the Peter R. Marsh Foundation as well as local school activities and sporting events. He has also contributed to projects such as performing as a trumpeter with the Gulf Coast Wind Ensemble during the 22-23 season and as a bass clarinetist with the Eunice Community Concert Band during the 24-25 season.
Mr. Ford is passionate about providing enriching experiences for his students and is committed to creating a supportive environment where they can thrive musically and personally. He attributes much of his success thus far to the mentorship of several individuals, who instilled in him a love for music and provided invaluable guidance throughout his educational journey.
Looking ahead, Mr. Ford plans to introduce his students to new opportunities, such as marching band evaluations, to inspire them with the message that music is for everyone. His dedication to fostering communication and understanding among students aligns with his broader mission to bring people together through music.
