Amanda, a distinguished human resources professional, is the director of people and culture at Vital, a health care organization that provides modern emergency department software for patients and providers. Since joining the company in 2023, she has established its first human resources (HR) department, a critical development for Vital as it previously lacked a dedicated HR team. Her role involves providing enhanced benefits, creating culture, and managing compliance. Amanda's efforts are pivotal in balancing the company's interests with those of its employees, thereby driving the business forward.

Before her current position, Amanda was the first director of people operations at Burnalong, an online and local health solutions company, from 2022 to 2023, where she successfully helped the company not only establish a people department for any and all needs, but also helped it become acquired by Tivity Health. Earlier, she worked for Welk Resorts for five years. Initially joining as an HR coordinator while pursuing her master's degree, Amanda transitioned into an HR manager role. Her time at Welk Resorts was marked by her dedication to employee management and development, even as the company navigated challenges such as the pandemic and eventual acquisition.

Amanda began her career in 2013 as a recruiting coordinator at Wyndham Vacation Ownership, where she quickly advanced to site recruiter and senior recruiter roles until 2017. Her early career also included a significant period as head physical therapy aide at Yosemite Physical Therapy from 2006 to 2014. Throughout her career, Amanda has demonstrated expertise in human resources management, employee education and problem resolution.

In preparation for her future, Amanda received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California in Merced, where she was part of the second graduating class.

Subsequently, she earned a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in human resources management from Grand Canyon University in 2019. Amanda's commitment to personal development is further evidenced by her certification in open enrollment administration from Rippling in 2024, and certification as a mental health ally, which has helped her learn to be more compassionate and empathetic.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Amanda is actively involved in civic organizations and community service. She has been a mentor for TeenWorks and a public relations advisor for Tuolumne Fire Advisor since 1998. Her passion for animal welfare is evident through her work with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where she rescues and walks dogs and helps find homes for homeless animals. Additionally, Amanda contributes to the Northern Nevada Women's Society and supports veteran societies.
