As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Korfiatis has carved a distinguished career in the maritime industry, serving as the vice president of marine technical operations at Royal Caribbean Group in Miami, Florida, since 2021. In this role, he is responsible for the safe operation of the world's largest and most technologically advanced cruise ships, ensuring they are maintained and supported, compliance with regulations, and overseeing marine operations. His journey to this position began after his tenure as an associate vice president of marine technical operations from 2016 to 2021. Before joining Royal Caribbean Group, Mr. Korfiatis was a marine technical operations executive at Resorts World Genting from 2013 to 2016. His career also includes significant roles in Greece; he was the technical director at Attica Group S.A. in Athens from 1999 to 2013 and, with a break in between, the fleet technical manager at Majestic International Cruises from 2003 to 2008. His expertise in naval architecture and marine engineering was further honed through project management and new project supervision roles at Attica Group S.A. in South Korea and Germany, respectively, and in new project supervision at Maran Tankers Management Inc. in South Korea.

Before embarking on his civilian career, Mr. Korfiatis served in the Greek Naval Army, an experience that instilled in him a profound sense of discipline and commitment to excellence. His military service laid a strong foundation for his later achievements in the maritime sector. Mr. Korfiatis is recognized as an expert in naval architecture and marine engineering, which is a testament to his extensive education and experience in the field.

Mr. Korfiatis received a Master of Business Administration from the Alba Graduate Business School in 2004 and a Master of Engineering in naval architecture and marine engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1997. His most notable achievement is being part of developing and deploying Superfast  Ferries, a series of high-speed luxury ferries earlier in his career, marking a significant innovation in the maritime industry. He attributes his achievements to the unwavering support of his family and the guidance of mentors who exposed him to various sectors within the industry. Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Korfiatis is actively involved in civic activities. Since 2014, he has been a member of the board of directors for the Archimedean Academy, a Greek Mathematics and Philosophy conservatory, demonstrating his commitment to contributing to his community.

Mr. Korfiatis is married to Evangelia Tsilivakou and is a proud father to Charalampos and Anastasios Korfiatis. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys playing music and sports, reflecting his well-rounded personality. Looking ahead, Mr. Korfiatis aims to broaden his leadership role within the maritime industry, with the aspiration of becoming a chief operating officer. This goal underscores his ambition to impact the industry on a larger scale while continuing to innovate and lead with integrity.
