Mr. Escalante is a distinguished executive director with 35 years of experience in the performing arts sector. Mr. Escalante oversees marketing, fundraising, accounting, finance and all non-artistic aspects of the organization. His responsibilities also include theater management, booking theaters, working with booking agents and overseeing ballet tours. Hailing from New York City, Mr. Escalante was the executive director of the National Dance Institute from 2022 to 2023. He also served in the same role at the Jos Limón Dance Foundation, also in New York City, between 2013 and 2022, where he significantly contributed to the organization's strategic planning and financial stability. In 2012, Mr. Escalante was the director of finance and administration at El Museo del Barrio in the Greater New York City area.

From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Escalante was the executive director of Orlando Ballet, where he oversaw daily operations, fundraising and marketing activities, developed an annual budget for board approval, provided financial reports, took the lead in fundraising efforts and more.

Mr. Escalante also garnered experience in the insurance sector for a brief time as a principal business development consultant at Worth Avenue Group, a leading provider of insurance for electronic devices, between 2005 and 2009. His work focused on strategic planning and business growth, including fund campaigns, sponsorship programs, grants administration and compliance, and other business areas.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Escalante was the executive director at Ballet Florida, a nonprofit organization in West Palm Beach, from 2001 to 2004. He was also the human resources director at the Miami City Ballet between 1995 and 2001, where he has since returned after over 20 years. Mr. Escalante began as an associate finance director at the New York City Ballet in 1989.

Mr. Escalante's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Lehman College in 1987 and a Master of Business Administration in global management from the University of Phoenix in 2002. He attributes his success to consistency, continuous learning, an open-door policy and giving credit where it is due. He believes in investing in himself to improve and surrounding himself with individuals who are more intelligent than him.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Escalante is actively involved in industry-related organizations. He has served on the board of directors for Dance/NYC since 2018 and has been a national board member of Dance/USA since 2024. His commitment to civic engagement is also evident through his mentorship role with the 5000 Role Models of Excellence program.

Mr. Escalante is passionate about ballet, considering it the most comprehensive art form encompassing music, theatrical performances and visual arts.
