With a wealth of enterprise risk management, organizational leadership, and mentoring experience, Mr. Baca is a standout as president of White Rook Consulting. His specialization lies in implementing and enhancing medical device quality systems. He also serves as an independent consultant, focusing on medical device quality systems that meet the stringent requirements of the Food and Drug Administration and International Standards Organization. Before his consultancy role, Mr. Baca held the position of vice president of QA/RA and clinical sciences for Stryker Instruments, where he was responsible for quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and clinical sciences for four of Stryker's business units.

During the early stages of his career, Mr. Baca gained valuable expertise as senior director of released product quality, technical services, and patient care for Medtronic Neuromodulation, vice president of quality assurance cardiac rhythm disease management for Medtronic, and through various roles with Johnson & Johnson. Dedicated to his country, he also served in the U.S. Army from 1976 until 1981 and in the U.S. Army Reserves between 1981 and 1994. Throughout his career, Mr. Baca has trained hundreds of employees, managed quality engineering functions for various companies, and designed and implemented unique quality and regulatory initiatives, resulting in increased productivity.

An expert in his field, Mr. Baca holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering with a minor in mathematics from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by earning a process excellence green belt through Johnson & Johnson and a quality engineer certification through the American Society for Quality. Likewise, Mr. Baca became adept in risk management and design controls through Greenlight Guru and a certified Malcolm Baldridge Criteria Assessor through Johnson & Johnson.

Mr. Baca's commitment to his community is as strong as his dedication to his career. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, The Gospel Mission, and the Cerebral Palsy Association, serving meals to the homeless and contributing to various causes.

Mr. Baca's outstanding achievements have not gone unnoticed. He has been honored with a Puck Award from Stryker Instruments, a Premier Excellence Award from Johnson & Johnson, and a Star of Excellence Award through Medtronic, among others. However, his most cherished recognition is being nominated for the Junipero Serra Award by his mentees through the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. He also takes great pride in establishing the Quality Academy at Stryker, an initiative designed to identify high-potential directors and senior directors on the pathway to vice president. Even though Mr. Baca has retired from Stryker, his mentees continue to enhance the Academy, a testament to his commitment to mentoring.

Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Baca credits his success to his upbringing and the values instilled in him by his parents, particularly the importance of honesty. He also notes that he would not be the man he is today without his time at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where the motto is "Duty, Honor, Country." Looking ahead, Mr. Baca intends to continue contributing to the medical device community and mentoring up-and-coming industry professionals.
