SAN DIEGO, CA, January 30, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Andrew W. Womack, PhD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Womack is a distinguished professional in the field of clinical supply chain management, currently serving as director at Gilead Sciences. In this role, he is responsible for liaising between legal, finance and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations. His daily activities include making phone calls, meeting with stakeholders and working to understand clinical needs. He also negotiates with suppliers to secure better pricing and terms, demonstrating his adeptness in procurement and relationship building.

Prior to being promoted to his current position, Dr. Womack was a senior manager in clinical supply chain management at Gilead Sciences from 2023 to 2024. Before his work with this firm, he held a long tenure at Alcon from 2015 to 2023, where he fulfilled various roles, including senior manager procurement, strategic category manager and clinical category manager. He previously worked for Novartis AG in Switzerland, a sister company of Alcon, where he orchestrated his move to Alcon. Earlier in his career, he served as principal investigator at Princeton University from 2016 to 2018 and deputy chief of staff for research and development at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs from 2015 to 2016.

Dr. Womack's academic journey is marked by significant achievements. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in neurobiology from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2020, following a Doctor of Philosophy in neuroscience from the same institution in 2015. He also holds a Master of Science in health and medical psychology from The University of Texas at Arlington, completed in 2014. His foundational education includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in biology and biological sciences and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology pre-medicine from the University of Oklahoma. He also holds several certifications in various soft skills from LinkedIn.

Dr. Womack's commitment to education extends beyond his own learning as he contributed significantly as an associate lecturer and professor at Princeton University between 2016 and 2017. His passion for teaching neuroscience, health psychology and psychology enriched the academic experience for his students and advanced their understanding of these fields.

Outside of a professional capacity, Dr. Womack is engaged in civic work through mentorship roles with The Trevor Project and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. His earlier experiences include serving as a flight medic instructor and paramedic with CareFlite and OU Medicine Inc., along with volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity.

Throughout his career, Dr. Womack has been recognized for his contributions to research and innovation. He was nominated for the Potamkin Prize by the American Academy of Neurology in 2017 and received an outstanding achievement award from Alcon for cost-saving initiatives. His research efforts have also been acknowledged by the National Institute of Health for developing a drug supporting Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease suppression.

Reflecting on his career, Dr. Womack attributes much of his success to the enduring memory of his twin sister, the strong support system of his family and the inspiration he gains from his faith to strive for excellence. These influences have driven him to continually pursue greater achievements.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Womack enjoys fishing, golfing, biking, hiking, camping, traveling and spending time with family. His future aspirations include transitioning into an executive leadership role, such as chief executive officer or chief operating officer within a company. Driven by a passion for leadership and team guidance toward impactful goals, he remains committed to advancing Alzheimer's research and understanding its connection with Parkinson's disease.
