From 2015 until 2021, she served as a clinical therapist and designated examiner at Rebound Behavioral Health Hospital, where she honed her skills in clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions. Earlier in her career, she was a substitute teacher at Concord Academy in 2006.
Laying the groundwork for Ms. Mills's accomplishments was her educational background. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies from Gardner-Webb University in 2008, followed by a Master of Arts in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University, obtained in 2016. She is also certified as a licensed professional counselor and as an advanced alcohol and drug counselor — credentials that have significantly contributed to her expertise in providing comprehensive care to those in need.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Mills has made meaningful contributions to various civic-minded organizations. She served as the chaplain for the Pageland Fire Department between 2013 and 2018 and was a percussion instructor at Central High School from 2012 to 2020. Her roles as a youth and children's minister at First Baptist Church of Pageland and as the director of youth and young adults at Buford Street United Methodist further highlight her commitment to community service.
Throughout her career, Ms. Mills has been actively involved in industry-related organizations such as the Addiction Professionals of South Carolina and the South Carolina Counseling Association, and she has contributed to the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics and her area chamber of commerce.
