Her military career spanned over two decades, from 1996 to 2022, during which she rose through the ranks from an enlisted service member to a Lieutenant Commander. This remarkable journey is a testament to her leadership skills and determination, as she was selected for officer training on her first attempt despite skepticism from others.

Mrs. Norris' educational background has played a significant role in her success. She earned a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management and Organizational Leadership from National University in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University. These academic achievements have equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective leadership and organizational development.

Her commitment to civic engagement is evident through her role as Grand Worthy Matron (CEO) of the Order of the Eastern Star from 2020-2022 (an active member) since 2012 and her involvement with America's Big Sisters Foundation. Alongside her husband, Mrs. Norris initiated an annual campaign aimed at keeping homeless veterans and the elderly warm during the winter months. For 2025, they are collaborating with three different homeless shelters to expand their efforts.

Throughout her military career, Mrs. Norris received numerous accolades, including 10 Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, a Navy Meritorious Service Medal and a Joint Service Commendation Medal from the United States Army and Marine Corps. These honors underscore her exceptional service and contributions to the armed forces. In her personal life, Mrs. Norris enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In 2024, she successfully sponsored 10 ladies and plans to expand this initiative by adding five more each year.
