LE ROY, NY, February 12, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christopher P. Pursel has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process.

Pursel is a professional with an extensive background in technological studies and roles. As the Management of Information Systems Supervisor at Six Flags Darien Lake, he oversees network infrastructure, computer hardware systems, and resolves application issues through coordination with other divisions and vendors. His work ensures the continuous operation of more than 100 point-of-sale systems in a large amusement park environment, including mobile devices, laptops, and desktop computers. His deep commitment to his role is evident, as he remains on-call throughout the company's primary operating season, as well as the offseason, when preventative maintenance work is completed.

In 2015, to complete his first master's degree, Pursel designed a competitive intelligence database for the Rochester, NY offices of Paychex, Inc. Then, in 2020, Pursel completed a Systems Analysis and Design internship at the Western Monroe Historical Society's Morgan-Manning House in Brockport, New York, where he delivered a report on collections management software and designed an accessioning system. His journey has also encompassed roles as a writing tutor under a graduate assistantship, a teacher's aide under a graduate fellowship, and a consumer electronics (brown goods) sales associate at three different Sears, Roebuck and Company locations.

Pursel's academic background has played a significant role in shaping his career. He earned a Master of Science in Information Science, with a concentration in Information Systems and Technology, from the University at Albany, State University of New York, in December 2015. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, with minors in English, Medieval Studies, and Philosophy, from the State University of New York College at Geneseo, which was conferred in May 2012. To deepen his knowledge and qualifications, he is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in History at the State University of New York at Brockport.

Throughout his career, Pursel has been recognized for his efforts in various organizations, including registrations of a heraldic device and badge with the Society for Creative Anachronism as of 2023, and completions of multiple leadership certificates from the Geneseo Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD) program, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold. He is an Eagle Scout. In addition to these accomplishments, Pursel has contributed to the publications Eagle Scout Storytelling Project 2022: Fiftieth Anniversary Edition and Geneseo Storytellers: A Celebration of 150 Years, both released by Publishing Concepts LP in 2022.

When he has spare time, Pursel enjoys engagement with visual culture; historical and contemporary music; and publications, including criticism, categorizable or concerned with speculative fiction, a term including the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres. Looking forward, he aims to continue work in his position at Six Flags Darien Lake and complete his second master's degree to enhance his scholarly knowledge.
