Before joining the University of Illinois Chicago, Mr. Zeid was a pricing coordinator at B.E. Atlas, an independent wholesale hardware distributor in Chicago, from 1999 to 2000. In this capacity, he was responsible for validating pricing and quotes and making price cost updates, among other obligations. Mr. Zeid's work contributed significantly to the company's financial success during his tenure.

Mr. Zeid's professional journey began as an office services clerk at Kamensky Rubinstein Hochman & Delott in Lincolnwood between 1997 and 1999. This role provided him with foundational experience, as he was involved in various administrative tasks and office management, working alongside a team of 40 attorneys and other personnel, setting the stage for his future endeavors.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Zeid received a Bachelor of Science in accounting, summa cum laude, from DeVry University in 1995, followed by a Master of Business Administration from North Park University in 1999. Moreover, he holds a Microsoft Office specialist certification, underscoring his proficiency with essential business tools and enhancing his effectiveness as an accountant.

In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Zeid is actively involved in various committees and councils that align with his professional interests. He has served on the advisory council for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education since 2022, and served as a host committee member with the Chicago Green Festival from 2011 to 2014, reflecting his commitment to sustainable practices within higher education institutions. Mr. Zeid is also affiliated with organizations such as the American Conservation Coalition and Mindworks, showcasing his broader interests.

Mr. Zeid has been recognized through numerous civic and professional accolades, including a Racial Justice Advancer Award from the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund in 2023, a Top-Ranked U.S. Executives (Professionals) Award from the National Council of American Executives, and a Vital Elite Lifesaving Advocate Award from Vitalant in 2024.
