Since 2023, he has been the program director at the Greer Transitions Clinic within Roper Saint Francis Healthcare, a clinic that is supported through philiantropic funds. In this role, he provides oversight and leadership over the transitions program, focusing on managing patients who frequently visit the emergency department. Seeing the healthcare need within Berkeley County he led the opening of another clinic to serve the rural area of the county. Before his current position, Dr. Powe was a practice manager for orthopedics at Roper Saint Francis Healthcare from 2022 to 2023, where he managed metrics and physician success and oversaw multiple orthopedics practices.

A career journey marked by a series of progressive roles, Dr. Powe was affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina between 2015 through 2022, beginning in the department of hospital patient accounting as an insurance collector and customer service representative and working his way up to a revenue analyst from 2021 to 2022. Dr. Powe started his career as a switchboard operator and administrative assistant at Trident Technical College between 2010 and 2015.

Dr. Powe's academic achievements have been instrumental in his professional success. He earned an Associate of Science and a certiciate in health science from Trident Technical College in 2013. He also garnered a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Charleston Southern University in 2015, a Master of Health Administration from Webster University in 2017, and a Doctor of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2023. Dr. Powe's professional credentials include being a licensed notary public through the South Carolina Secretary of State, holding a diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace certificate from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business, and designation as a Lean Six Sigma yellow belt from Medical University of South Carolina. He is a member of the national and local chapters of the American College of Health Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives. Dr. Powe's expertise in community health is further enhanced by his membership in industry-related organizations, such as the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Powe is involved with his local Habitat for Humanity, and participates in community events at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. He previously served as a worship minister at Nickols Residential Care from 2008 to 2020. He also held various ministrial leadership roles within his local church with a concentration in community event planning, and volunteered with Bread of Life from 2018 to 2023.

Mentorship has played a crucial role in Dr. Powe's career development. He intends to focus on advancing his career toward leadership roles within health care administration, potentially reaching executive positions within the sector.
